Hello from Contigo HQ-

So by now you’ve probably seen our AUTOSEAL® Technology on a few different products, but you may be asking yourself, how is this different from AUTOCLOSE® Technology? And what products have this technology?

Both were born out of issues that we faced and saw others being challenged with as well. One of the reasons we came up with AUTOCLOSE® technology was that a number of us in the office jumped on the “mix-in” bandwagon and loved using flavor enhancers in our water bottles. However, we hated stirring with our straw or (gulp) finger because it never mixed everything up.

Leak proof AUTOCLOSE water bottleNo matter what there would be some kind of mess. Whether it was spilling, splashing or knocking it over, enjoying our favorite drinks always seemed to come with some kind of clean up. Don’t even mention when the kids got involved.

So our designers and engineers went to work on creating a tumbler that removed any risk of mess and also let you easily mix drinks up. After a multitude of designs that our team went through, we all “fell” in love with a trap-door design (see what we did there?).

The spring-loaded AUTOCLOSE® “trap door” under the lid seals your drink in, making sure there are no spills on your morning commute. Simply make it, shake it and take it! As a bonus, the team engineered it to fit under most single serve brewers so that you can easily shake to chill your favorite iced tea or iced coffee.

Simply toss in your favorite water enhancers, powdered drinks, cold brew coffee or iced tea and shake things up. Check out the video if you need a more visual representation of how to shake it like a Polaroid picture. (Ed. Note: Don’t shake it like that. If you shake it with two fingers you’ll drop it.)

Check out the AUTOCLOSE® Shake & Go® Tumbler in all its glory here.

Thank you for contacting us. We apologize for the issue with your product. Our care and use guides (http://www.gocontigo.com/care-and-use-guides/) outline the ideal method for cleaning and storing your product. In general, you should rinse the product after each use, and always store your product with the lid removed in a cool, dry place.
We offer cleaning brushes through our online store, and you can also view a video that demonstrates the best way to clean your product. For stronger cleaning power, you can use lemon juice, white vinegar and baking soda, or Polident® Retainer Tabs. It is not safe to use bleach or other toxic cleaners.
I hope this information is helpful, and please contact us if we can be of further assistance.

We just bought to 20 oz travel cups “snap seal” and the first time we tried them for hot coffee , the coffee only stayed luke warm after 2 hours . We thought the coffee should stay hot for a longer period of time . Any suggestions before we return the cups?

    • Contigo

Hi Dan, so sorry to hear that. We recommend that when not actively drinking out of the mug, making sure it’s completely sealed shut and the Snapseal lid is closed. Please reach out to our customer service team to help facilitate your return if you’re still not satisfied: http://www.gocontigo.com/contact/ . Hope this helps!

I bought cups from Cosco for my three grandkids and they leak. When they are closed and you first pop them open, they squirt water out. And after drinking from the cup they leak.

    • Contigo

Hi Youko, so sorry to hear that. For the Costco cups, we recommend unscrewing the cap a little bit and then screwing it back on before drinking to relieve any pressure that’s built up. If you find the cup still leaks after that, please contact our customer service department for more help. Thanks for your feedback!
